Slash commands
Use /broadcast and /sendmessage to compose and send from any channel in Slack.
Overview
Pinguin registers two slash commands. Both open an ephemeral preview — only you can see it — before sending through the full send wizard.
/broadcast
Compose and send a message to channels. Include your message text directly in the command.
/broadcast Q1 launch is live — read the full announcement in #product- Edit Message — change text before sending
- Add Image — attach an image block
- Link previews: On / Off — control URL unfurling
- Send Message — open the send wizard
/sendmessage
Compose and send a direct message to people in your workspace. Same preview flow as /broadcast, but the send wizard targets DMs instead of channels.
/sendmessage Reminder: please complete your security training by Friday.Recipients see the message in their DM conversation with @Pinguin. Pick people or a DM audience list in the send wizard — same as composing from the Home tab.
@here, @channel, and @everyone
Include @here, @channel, or @everyone in your message text. Pinguin parses these into Slack broadcast mentions automatically.
