Broadcasts
Compose, preview, schedule, and send channel broadcasts with CTAs, images, and link preview controls.
Compose a broadcast
From the Home tab, open New Broadcast. Optionally pick a Template to start from a saved layout. Write your message in the rich text editor — formatting, links, and @here / @channel / @everyone mentions are supported.
You can also use /broadcast from any channel for a faster path to preview and send.
Preview and draft actions
Before sending, your draft shows all compose options:
- Edit Message — update the message body
- Add Image — upload an image block
- Add CTAs / Edit CTAs — attach up to 5 link buttons
- Link previews: On / Off — show or hide URL unfurls
- Apply Template — replace the draft with a saved template
- Send Message — continue to the send wizard
Send wizard
The send wizard has three steps for channel broadcasts:
- Step 1 — Internal name (for analytics, max 80 characters) and Send Now or Schedule Message
- Step 2 — Date & time (if scheduled), destination (all channels or an audience list), and send-as (yourself or a custom profile)
- Step 3 — Engagement Log — optionally pick a channel to log reactions and replies in a thread
Send destinations
- Send to all channels — every channel @Pinguin is a member of
- Audience list — a saved group of channels (see Audience lists)
Scheduling
Choose Schedule Message in step 1, then pick a future date and time in step 2. Scheduled sends appear under Scheduled Messages on the Home tab. Only the person who scheduled a send can cancel it.
CTA buttons
Add up to 5 call-to-action link buttons per message. Each button has a label, URL, and style (Primary or Secondary). Only one Primary button is allowed per message.
Link previews
Toggle Link previews: Off to send plain URLs without unfurl cards — useful for cleaner messages. Default is On.
Images
Use Add Image to upload a file. Pinguin attaches it as an image block below your message text.
Edit in place
After sending, open the broadcast in Analytics and click Edit Message to update the message body across every channel where it was delivered.
- Only the original sender can edit
- Message text only — CTAs, images, and link preview settings are not updated
- Broadcast must have been delivered to 100 channels or fewer
- At least one channel must have received the message successfully
Message attribution
When Message Attribution is enabled in Settings, broadcasts include a "Sent by @Pinguin" footer. Toggle this off in App Home → Settings if you prefer a cleaner message.
